Staging Opened My Eyes

Sometimes it seems I live in the late 20’s during the Depression, and, I sometimes live in a closed Mind. I had done real estate for years and not only had never staged a home but was vocally anti-staging. (what a loser)

Then I listed a very beautiful home but had difficulty selling the home because it was 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 stories and Did Not have a Garage or Driveway. The house was in the City and could accommodate many people living there but no place to park. The house was beautiful but I could not sell it.

I saw something online about Virtual Staging and sent 4 pictures of vacant rooms to see what the Virtual Stager could do. I was very happy. We added the 4 virtual staged pictures next to the vacant room pictures and caught peoples attention immediately. The house sold a short time later.

I still did not stage but suddenly I had listings that were over $2,000,000 and when I went online to see what was listed in that price range I had to notice that EVERY house was staged. So I joined the Staging Crowd and was glad I did. I became a stager.

Later I listed a 3 level loft and the seller did not want the home staged because he was still living in the home. I talked to the stager and she suggested that we stage part of the house and not stage a section. So we staged the downstairs and second level. On the top level was a bedroom, bath and a large walk-in closet.

The stager staged everything except the top floor and we had an understanding with the seller the condition that the top floor needed to always be in perfect viewing shape. Which he did and the home sold quickly.

Now when I list a home I will strongly suggest staging every time.
